Casual Schedule

Hey everyone,

For those of you who have been anticipating videos for a few days - I wanted to apologize and just let you know I haven't forgotten about the channel.

My schedule as of late has been increasingly more hectic. I've been getting more hours at work, and have had less available to get anything done around the house. Those two unfortunately take priority over my work online, and as a result my video uploading schedule will become much more casual until further notice.

As much as I hate to do this, it would be unfair of me to have you all expect to see a certain amount of content and then fail to deliver.

I want you to know that I'm not giving up on the channel, just taking a more casual approach to the upload schedule as I have very limited time to make new videos.

Hopefully I can go back to the old schedule sometime soon, but until further notice you should expect only one video every one or two weeks from here on in.

Once again, I'm sorry I can't spend the time to keep up with my schedule as it was, but real life needs a lot of attention right now - and I hope you can understand and continue to enjoy the content that is released.

Thanks for your patience and understanding :)

Best,

Scary

Moar Delays? :(

Hey everyone,

So life has been incredibly busy lately. Last week there was a delay for one video, and this week it happened again. Just want to apologize to everyone and assure you that I'm absolutely overwhelmed with real life crap that I absolutely have to deal with.

For this reason the Friday video (yesterday) is delayed until (probably) tomorrow, and the Monday video is still on schedule.

It's a very busy time with work and a bunch of things happening at home, unsurprisingly all at the same time.

Thanks very much for your patience as I work to resolve these issues and get back to a regular schedule once again.

Everything should be smooth as of next week.

Best,

Scary

Video Delays

Hey guys,

Just a quick update - my apologies for not having the Monday video ready. The weekend's insanity spilled over into the beginning of the week for me and I had absolutely no time to get anything done.

The Wednesday video is in the works and will be out later tonight.

Thanks for understanding :)

New Ride

Hey guys,

Bit of a different post today. I've been busy running around all day and all weekend trying to finalize the deal on my new ride.

As such the Monday video might be a bit late, probably airing sometime Tuesday morning.

I wanted to apologize for the late video due to the legwork and paperwork I need to do to get my new ride home.

Thanks very much for understanding and I will see you soon!

Friday Night Magic - Surge of Fatties!

Hey everyone,

This week's video is a red black and green Warstorm Surge theme deck featuring the namesake as well as many fatties to do massive damage to our enemies!

We also have some cool graveyard tricks since we run black, to get cards like Pelakka Wurm back, and abuse its life gain and card draw effects.

Really cool deck that can do fairly well, has been featured before on the channel.

Enjoy!

Hey guys!

Thanks for joining me once again for some more Friday Night Magic. It's getting very close to the release of the new Magic set, Origins, and the new duels game - Magic Duels Origins!

In anticipation of its arrival, we are re-visiting some of the cooler decks I have played in this season; and today, it's an Abzan lifegain deck!

Check out the craziness that ensues when Angelic Accord, Seance, and Doubling Season are out and about. Fun :)

Let me know what you think and if you have any strategies of your own similar to this one. As always, keep your eyes pealed as Origins will be getting lots of coverage in July (I'm planning on buying a box and opening it with you all for the first time ever in the history of the channel!)

Also, in unrelated news, keep an eye out for Xbox Live Gold guest passes being given away in the month of July and check out the upcoming Xbox gameplay to get your hands on a guest pass yourself!

Hey everyone,

I'm taking a day off today to celebrate my wife's birthday. That being said, unfortunately there won't be any new coverage of Legacy of the Void this week.

Don't worry, I'm not leaving you empty handed!

There's some good news too. We have some new maps available in StarCraft II for the new season. You can check those out here.

And if you want to see a really cool short film inspired by Starcraft II, check out "The Rush" - available here.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you back in Wednesday for more heroes!

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Anub'Arak

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the  "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to more Heroes gameplay. Today I'm playing Anub'Arak!

Anub is not actually "a noob", as most would have you believe (See what I did there?) But, I suppose because this is my first time playing him, you might as well call him Anoob. ;)

He can be built to be fairly tanky, or to dish out some damage. I found that his damage dealing often took a back seat to his stunning and slowing abilities, which are amazing! He can also get away fairly easily with his burrow, which is nice that it's available as both a defensive and offensive action.

He's often great to have around when you don't want people escaping from team fights. His survivability is great, however his damage suffers as a result.

For more information about his abilities, check out this page!

Let me know what other heroes you'd like to see!

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Thank you for watching :)

Free Gold Anyone? Xbox Live Gold, That Is

Hey everyone,

As you may or may not know, I recently just purchased an Xbox One, and have been checking out some content that I thought was worth sharing. Don't freak out, my channel is still very much about PC gaming! But, I wanted the opportunity to show you some cool things that I encounter and in the end, gaming is gaming, and we all love it very much. That being said, I'd like to periodically bring you some Xbox One content. I don't think this warrants starting another channel, but it is definitely a change and one that should be celebrated!

So, in the month of July, I will be giving away two FREE Xbox Live Gold 14 Day Trials to two lucky subscribers!

This will be a subscriber only giveaway, so make sure to follow these steps:

  • You must be a subscriber
  • Leave a comment under any SSP Gaming Xbox video with "#freegold" (Thumbs up or down is up to you ;) )
  • Be a new Xbox Live user (These are trial memberships after all, which means they will not work if you have or have had an Xbox Live Gold membership in the past.)

That's it! That's all you have to do. Easy, right? I thought so :) Now I know that last line above is a bit of a downer, but it's what I have to work with right now. On the bright side, if this goes well I will consider doing more giveaways in the future :)

Hope you guys like this idea, and good luck snagging your 14 day trial. Please be honest, and don't tag your post if you're an existing (or were) an Xbox Live Gold member.

Thanks for keeping this honest, and let's have some fun with it. Keep an eye out for periodic Xbox content coming in July!

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Nova

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the  "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to more Heroes gameplay. Today I'm playing Nova.

Nova is a ranged assassin who cloaks and ambushes heroes with high burst damage.

Her Q is a skill shot that when used out of or shortly after cloak does a substantial amount of damage. Although sometimes hard to hit with, the payoff is great as it almost always ensures a kill if timed correctly.

The W is a slow, which lasts for a couple seconds. The damage is not that high, but what is good using this build is that anything that follows this move up will also deal quite a bit more damage. In this case, I usually always slow first, then hit with Q for a good bit of burst damage, especially when the hero is low on health.

Nova's E ability can be very useful as it makes a copy of her. Yes, you can build into the copy doing light damage, but that's not what I use it for. It's a great decoy to stand behind while retreating under fire, and also acts as a great decoy when used near towers, to get those last few hits in.

Her heroic abilities are both pretty cool. Double tap does nice burst damage to a single target, while the precision strike deals damage to a wide area and hits everything in said area. I enjoy both but typically go for the strike.

Nova is a versatile hero with a lot of burst potential, and one of my favorite Heroes of the Storm.

Let me know what other heroes you'd like to see!

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Thank you for watching :)

Legacy of the Void Closed Beta - Archon Mode!

Hey everyone!

I am excited to show off some 2v2 play in the new "Archon" mode that will be available in Legacy of the Void, a standalone expansion and the third and final installment in StarCraft II's trilogy.

In Archon mode, you pair up with a partner and take on another Archon (team of two players) in a battle to the death. Alternatively, you can also compete 2v1, against a single player who has chosen to take on an Archon team by him/herself.

A very cool and unique feature never before seen in Starcraft, Archon mode is sure to make games a lot more interesting, interactive, and explosive.

Enjoy this week's coverage of Archon mode and make sure to come back next week for more Legacy of the Void Closed Beta coverage!!

Friday Night Magic - Grixis TROLL

Hey everyone,

As you've probably guessed from seeing the video on the channel this past Friday, I was re-visiting my Grixis Control deck.

I enjoyed the deck so much I decided to go back to it and play it again. Since there are only so many deck ideas possible with the card pool in Magic 2015, I will be re-visiting a number of other decks that were popular and performed well in the weeks to come, as we anticipate the new release of this year's "Duels" which is coming in July.

Hope you enjoy the video :)

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Zagara Round Two

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to more Heroes gameplay. Today I'm playing Zagara.

Because I really enjoyed the build from the first time around we're going to keep things very much the same, with maybe one or two differences along the road to 20.

Zagara is an awesome ranged specialist able to dish out a surprising amount of damage with the correct timing in addition to some cool control effects.

Her Q spawns a line of banelings, which when they connect deal a great amount of damage and are just satisfying to watch as they roll into your opponent's face kamikaze style :)

Her W spawns a hunter killer Hydralisk which is actually a targeted ability. Once you target a hero with it the Hydralisk relentlessly pursues them, dealing damage along the way until it's killed or kills it's target. This can be upgraded later to contain an extra charge and even to evolve it into Mutalisk form, which is able to fly over ground obstacles!

Zagara's E ability drops a pod of three little zergling type dudes who attack anything nearby. They don't last very long nor do they have much health, but they do a good amount of damage and can really catch heroes off guard. The initial blast also deals some damage, so it's a bit of a two tone effect.

Lastly Zagara has two heroic abilities. The first of which being my favorite control ability in the game (short of maybe Stiches' ability to EAT someone and transport them down the highway to hell, at the end of which are your teammates waiting to show him the welcome wagon of death) Devouring Maw. The maw itself doesn't deal that much damage but it does eat and consume anything caught in the radius and keeps it there for several seconds. Mind you, even though the damage is negligible, the effect of temporarily removing a few or even just one hero from a team fight can sway it heavily in your favor.

Zagara also has the ability to take advantage of the Nydus Worm Network as her alternative heroic ability. Essentially this allows her to travel anywhere on the map that you can see (initially) and then once the tunnels have been placed, you can travel there at will from another tunnel. Really cool.

Let me know what other heroes you'd like to see!

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Thank you for watching :)

Hatred Gameplay

What's going on guys :) Heard a lot of things about this game and decided to try it out, this is Hatred by Destructive Creations.

It's a top-down Postal-eque game that has violence and death in spades. You play as one pissed off dude who just wants to see the world and the people who inhabit it burn to ashes.

The premise is a linear level by level design incorporating a variety of weapons and explosive devices. Your targets are innocent, unarmed and fear-induced citizens and the police officers who respond to the hell that you put those people through.

There are some objectives that when completed, will give you respawn tokens which can be used to, well, respawn if you die. If you have no respawn tokens, you have to start the level all over again.

The only bit of narrative is that of these small objectives. The rest of the game is basically point, shoot, and repeat.

I'm not crazy about this game, but that's not because of the violence. There have been many games in the past even more violent than this, and hey - it is what it is. What makes this an uninstall for me is the sheer linearity of the plot, the absence of a narrative or story, and very little reward other than feeling like a complete psychopathic bad-ass on the war path. And that feeling fades away pretty fast. Add to that no checkpoint system, lack of customization options, and really just a lack of purpose, and it's hard to keep going with this game.

Fun for jumping in and out, responsive gun play and cool explosions and destructive environments. I also do enjoy the noir feel, as it really brings the darkness that envelops you throughout your journey to light, so to speak. Other than that, unfortunately, this is just another casual romp in the sea of many other games out there that don't do anything interesting, but seem to give you a small dose of whatever it is you were looking for. Trouble is, we always come back for more, and there's only so much you can get out of a game like this.

Hope you enjoyed this, make sure to subscribe and comment with your ideas and suggestions!

Friday Night Magic - World Warped

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Welcome to another episode of Friday Night Magic,

Your weekly destination for exciting magic games played online every Friday night in Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers!

This deck was built by Monk1410 and is available here: http://forum.nogoblinsallowed.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8231&start=20#p261558

This is a control style deck which focuses on the card warp world. THe basic strategy is to litter the battlefield with as many permanents as possible, then use warp world and enjoy the fun.

It's mostly a fun deck that isn't very competitive, because the combo (which can go infinite) is tough to pull off and requires a bit of luck as well.

Nevertheless, with all these three star top of the tier decks being played, I thought it'd be fun to check out something new for a change.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below and make sure to thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already!

Enjoy the video :)

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Diablo

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Today's video features the one and only lord of terror, Diablo himself.

Diablo is a melee warrior capable of soaking up a lot of damage. But although he can be built to do just that, he's also an awesome initiator for team fights, and can often sway them in your favor by stunning and "re-positioning" enemy heroes into less-than-ideal places so as to make it much easier to have your team pick them off.

His Q is a charging bash ability that sends the hero flying a short distance and also suns them for a short while. It's very useful to catch up to someone and get them on your other side (with E), preferably on the one that all your teammates are standing on. I also found it useful to use those two abilities backwards if I can get close enough without having to charge. If you can surprise the enemy hero, slamming them over to your other side with E and then charging them further into the undesirable (for them) location is pretty awesome and often spells certain doom.

His W is a fiery blast that goes out in a circular fashion getting larger in radius as it travels further. It deals a certain amount of damage to anyone caught in the burning embers. It's nice for catching people off guard with a little bit of damage, but the unfortunate thing is that it is just that - only a little, and I found it more often than not useful more so to take out creeps than enemy heroes. Still, at level 20+ it does a respectable amount of damage and should still be used when the time is right.

Diablo's E ability allows him to grab a hero and smash them over to his other side. This also deals a bit of damage, but that's not why this ability is really really good. In team fights this move often catches a hero off side, and punishes them DEARLY for it. In addition to putting them into a place they don't want to be (like, surrounded by your teammates for instance) it also is made much worse by charging at them with W to further push them in said direction. Awesome.

Diablo's passive allows you to collect black soulstones; which, when at maximum, give him a buff to HP and also allow him to resurrect nearly instantly after he dies. At that point he looses 100 and has to start again. It's noteworthy that he still gets a boost to HP the more he collects, just that he will not benefit from the resurrection buff until he has 100.

He as a lot of fun to play, quite tanky, and a great hero in fights. Surprisingly, he was also fairly easy to pick up. Let me know how you play Diablo in the comments below. :)

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Thank you for watching :)

Learn2Magic: Green

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Welcome back to some more Learn2Magic, where I look at the basics and key features of Magic that are most important to learn for new players. This includes card mechanics and interactions that may be somewhat confusing at first, to help get new players on track and enjoying games sooner.

This week's video focuses on Green. Green is a colour of life, growth, and big badass creatures! With the help of cards that accelerate our mana base (called ramp) fight spells that act as removal by having our big creatures fight our opponents' smaller creatures, and finally big fatties, green usually overwhelms and obliterates boards in a big way.

We have a small amount of card draw through Elvish Visionary, which helps us get some more lands (sometimes). With cards like Elvish Pioneer, we're able to place more lands per turn into play, thus being able to cast Cultivate sooner, which gets us even more lands. With all those lands the strategy is to play big fatties and simply smash things in the face until they fall down.

Green is probably one of the easier colours to get into when first starting Magic as its interactions are typically a little more simplistic than those of the other colours.

Nevertheless, as simple as it may turn out to be, it can be just as deadly and very very scary for you if you're on the wrong side of the table.

If you have any questions about this deck, this colour, or have some suggestions of your own, make sure to leave it in the comments below, and thanks for watching!

Learn2Magic Series - Delay

Hey guys!

Today has been an insanely busy day. I apologize for not being able to produce a video today, as I had to visit my doctor among a plethora of other important to-do's (including helping the wife at home.)

I haven't slipped, so don't worry ;) I will hopefully be releasing the video tomorrow, or at worst alongside the weekly rendition of Heroes Gameplay on Wednesday.

In the meantime, please enjoy the rest of what the channel has to offer as we look forward to the Legacy of the Void beta, which I am very excited for.

Thanks for reading and for watching, and I will see you very soon.

Friday Night Magic - RUG Control

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Welcome to another episode of Friday Night Magic,

Your weekly destination for exciting magic games played online every Friday night in Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers!

This deck was built by Monk1410 and is available here: http://forum.nogoblinsallowed.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=4948&start=140#p281861

This is a RUG control deck (Red, Blue, Green) which focuses primarily on abusing Jalira's ability to sacrifice cheaper creatures (like tokens) in order to get big bad fatties into play (such as Kozilek, Butcher of Truth).

In addition, we have the ability of using an infinite turn combo with the use of Archeomancer, Species Gorger and Time Warp.

Other cards in this deck include control staples such as Quicken (not to be confused with the money software) and Dissolve. We also run some removal such as Shock, Ground Assault and Anger of the Gods so that we can deal with our opponents' early threats and be able to stabilize through to mid/late game where we really shine.

No control deck would be complete without a good draw engine, so we are using several copies each of Inspiration and Think Twice, a recurring draw spell that allows us to play it twice; hence, the name.

With all these cards that we're drawing, it's no time before we will draw the ones we need to shut out the game. In some cases, that can take quite a long time, and sometimes we have to use certain cards just to stall into late game. Fear not however, because there's an answer for milling yourself out as well. Kozilek's ability allows him and everything in your graveyard to be shuffled into your library whenever he himself is put into the yard from anywhere. The cool thing about that is then we can take advantage of this by using Satyr Wayfinder to give us lands, and shuffle our yard into our library should we hit a Kozilek along the way.

I really like the way this deck works. However, there are some problems. Namely, as can be seen in this video, the control mirror is terrible without an Obelisk of Alara. In this case, my opponent had one in the second game and I was in big trouble.

Nevertheless this deck is more than capable of standing on its own two feet and can be absolutely devastating if allowed to go off.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below and make sure to thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already!

Enjoy the video :)

BREAKING NEWS! Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void (Closed Beta)

Hey everyone,

Scary here. Well, you've probably heard about it. You may have even read about it. Starcraft II's next big thing is coming, and it's the Legacy of the Void. You may have also heard that I will be covering the beta in-depth very soon, and that confirmation came today from Blizzard.

Sometime within the next two weeks, coverage will start on the channel as well as here on the blog. There's lots to cover from what's been revealed thus far, and it's all very exciting.

Personally, I'm not a micro master. I wouldn't even call myself "good" at Starcraft. But it's a universe I've enjoyed exploring since my high school and college days, long long ago. I can't count the amount of times I'd skip class to hit up the local internet cafe with my buds and play Starcraft for hours on end.

To put it shortly, the idea in this expansion is to focus around a more explosive, intensive match by allowing players to harass easier, sooner, and more often. New maps units and abilities will incorporate this idea and encourage it in multiplayer games. No doubt this means we will see a big shift in the meta (or not at all) but definitely in the play styles of those participating in high level multiplayer play.

I'm sure that for those of us (such as myself) who aren't good enough to compete on a world e-sports level, will still have the pleasure of being able to watch how strategies and techniques change based on the changes to come in this new expansion.

I for one am very excited and would like to take this opportunity to thank Blizzard for giving me an opportunity to take a closer look at it, probably before many other will have the chance to. Hopefully you will share that excitement with me as you watch and read coverage of Legacy of the Void (closed beta) in the weeks to come.

That's it for now :)

Hey everyone,

Today I am going to be playing Arthas! Although I am not very familiar with his abilities I'm gonna give it a whirl anyway. I've heard he's an awesome melee fighter and I want to see for myself.

Icy Arthas has some really cool moves when it comes to getting rid of pesky heroes. He's fairly mobile although sometimes I felt like he lacked the reach necessary to really hunt down heroes and get those crucial last hits on them. I suppose this is why his abilities (at least most of them) chill and root.

His Q allows you to get a little bit of damage on your enemy as they flee, which often is not enough for the kill. But if you time your attacks right, it can be, and being able to kill with it, especially if you miss a root or slow, can be very satisfying.

His W roots and slows enemies in a small area. This can be useful for slowing the movement of your enemies, either to catch up or to prevent escape. It's also very useful for straight up killing them. In later levels, it does a good amount of damage and I was surprised as to how many times I last hit with it.

His E is an aura that chills enemies and also deals damage. While the damage is negligible, it does help to deal with some of the minions as you execute the others one by one. More importantly to this, there is a stacking debuff that slows up to a maximum of 30% and this is the scary part. If you're in it long enough, you will have a very very hard time getting away from Arthas. And once he's got you in his icy grips, it's good night for sure.

His R is a bit of a toss up. It's a summon spell either way, and you have to consider whether you want sustained damage from multiple sources, or a burst of damage from just one. Either way, working with his heroic ability can be fun and satisfying. For this video, I chose the ghouls because well, I used to play a Death Knight in Warcraft and what other way to represent your power than to summon the dead to do your bidding for you?

He also has a D ability which I rarely used until I learned it's power. It amplifies the damage your next basic attack does which is huge - but also helps to restore mana, which also helps quite a bit to keep you in lane longer.

Overall I think Arthas is a pretty solid hero, and once you get past t he learning curve (which isn't that curvy) you will be making heads roll in no time.

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Learn2Magic: Red

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Welcome back to some more Learn2Magic!

This week's video focuses on red. It's ability to go straight for the face and absolutely destroy everything in its way is awesome. Red is a very fast and aggressive colour that often allows a red mage to play burn spells (either single or multi target), creatures with haste, as well as some artifact and land destruction.

Red is also one of those colours that lends itself very well to being a part of a multi coloured deck. For the purposes of this video however, we'll stick with just red, mono red.

With so many advantages it's hard to come up with negative annoyances from playing this colour, and there are a few. For starters, it can be a very all-in type of strategy. You usually win by turn so and so, or lose horribly.

In addition, there is very little card draw in red, so if you know you can't win in the first few turns, sometimes you have no choice but to pace yourself. There's nothing worse than having an angry group of goblins looking at your opponent and then have them get wiped out in one fell swoop, leaving you with nothing in hand and a feeling of bitter disappointment.

When played right, red can be a very dangerous colour that has the ability to strike fast, and catch your opponents off guard - usually overwhelming them before they can act.

Thanks for joining me this week as we play a mono red goblins deck, I hope you enjoy it!

If you have any questions about this deck, this colour, or have some suggestions of your own, make sure to leave it in the comments below, and thanks for watching!

Friday Night Magic - Cheap Tricks

If you'd like to make the channel and blog better, and enjoy the content - please consider donating by clicking on the donate link to the right of this post. Thanks :D

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to more Friday Night Magic. Tonight I'm playing a red white Boros cheap tricks heroics deck by Kryder from No Goblins Allowed. This deck was originally created by Hakeem from the same forum. Click here to check it out!

This deck is focused mainly on playing cheap and efficient creatures, and buffing them up with cheap but powerful enchantment auras. The idea is to get everything out as fast as possible (generally the case with red) and win quickly.

The advantages of this deck are its speed and how quickly creatures can grow as a result of those enchantments. Often times it catches an opponent off guard, and as they scramble to mitigate the last few points of their life total, it's already too late.

Sadly, I feel that as great as this deck is, there are several disadvantages too (as with any deck). Namely, if you don't win in the first 6-7 turns or so, as time goes on you will have a more and more difficult time being able to secure a victory. Small creatures buffed up are great, but without those buffs they are often 1/1's or just slightly bigger, easily taken out by the game's plethora of removal spells (especially burn).

As fun as this deck was to play, it definitely doesn't suit my own playstyle. That alone however doesn't make this deck bad by any means. It certainly has the power and legs to carry it into a finish. The problem is, those legs being severed prematurely before they can do what they need to do ;)

I hope you enjoyed this week's video, and invite you to join me next week, as well as throughout the week for regularly scheduled content.

I'm already planning the next Monday series, which will follow the current series about Magic learning how to play as a new player. If you have any suggestions, please share your ideas in the comments below!

Have a great one guys!

Heroes Gameplay: Nazeebo

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation here by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Today I am going to be playing Nazeebo. He's a ranged specialist from the Diablo universe and probably one of the most fun to play heroes in my opinion.

He's got some really cool abilities, as any good aspiring witch doctor probably should have. From spiders to poisonous toads, he's sure to make your enemies' days turn into a nightmare.

He also has a great CC called Zombie Wall, which after a short delay after activating surrounds your enemy in a...well, wall of zombies. This deals damage to the enemy but more importantly prevents escape, making them an easy target.

In addition to his regular abilities, Nazeebo has an awesome trait, which poisons enemies with the use of his other abilities and heals you if they die from it.

Out of the two heroic abilities, I really enjoy the gargantuan as I feel that it is a lot more intimidating and carries with it much more lane presence than the spawned creature that you only get for 8 seconds with Nazeebo's other heroic ability.

He's a crafty ranged attacker that can really create a lot of discomfort for enemy heroes, especially the ones that try to out maneuver him and stay mobile.

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Laern2Magic: Black

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to some more Learn2Magic, where I look at the basics and key features of Magic that are most important to learn for new players. This includes card mechanics and interactions that may be somewhat confusing at first, to help get new players on track and enjoying games sooner.

This week's video comes a little late due to work restraints and working much overtime in the recent weeks. It's been very hectic but I'm doing my best to get these videos out on time, and I appreciate your patience!

As you can imagine, black is the most diabolical of colours in Magic. It has some of the best tutor cards (cards that allow you to fetch a card from your library or graveyard and put it either into your hand, top of library or battlefield), kill spells (including straight up destroy and sacrifice spells) and believe it or not, draw spells as well.

Although not as strong as blue in the draw department, black can often draw you a card or two (though it may be conditional, like having zombies out while controlling a graveborn muse) and if it can't do that, it can at least let you search for one.

What else do you think about when you think black? Well, there's zombies, demons, vampires, and all sorts of other creatures of the night. Some of the cards in this deck have great utility, while others allow us to keep the pressure on our opponent. Bloodghast's ability to have haste when our opponent is at 10 life or less is not bad at all, but what makes him awesome is that whenever we play a land, we can remove him from the graveyard, and put him straight into play. That's 2 extra damage each turn to help hammer out the last few points of damage and destroy our opponent.

Other cards like Indulgent Tormentor allow us to not just have a beefy body that flies, but also gives us card advantage, or if not, hurts our opponent each and every turn by making him either pay 3 life or sacrificing a creature (instead of allowing us to draw a card).

As you will see in this video, card advantage, cantrips, and good use of utility cards is essential to making sure you win the game. There are plenty of options in other colours for these as well of course, but today we will be focusing on black.

If you have any questions about this deck, this colour, or have some suggestions of your own, make sure to leave it in the comments below, and thanks for watching!

Friday Night Magic - Total Control

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Welcome to another episode of Friday Night Magic,

Your weekly destination for exciting magic games played online every Friday night in Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers!

This week I'm playing a four colour control deck aimed at disrupting anything my opponent can throw at me.

There's a rather large suite of magic including counterspells, spot removal, mass removal as well as straight up exile. Nothing wrong with that!

The deck wins by stalling until late game, and waiting until the opponent has very little gas left. Then, slamming down a Kozilek at a critical point in the duel, and annihilating everything in sight (literally, with the annihilator ability!).

Of course the huge eldrazi isn't our only threat. We also have a baneslayer angel which is a solid body with protection from two of the most common creatures in black as well as lifelink which provides crucial life gains after taking a beating the majority of the game.

If that doesn't work, there's always obelisk of alara, allowing us to use and reuse the several different modes at our disposal to gain life as well as several other effects.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below and make sure to thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already!

Enjoy the video :)

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Thrall

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation here by clicking on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone, and welcome to more coverage of Heroes of the Storm. Today I'm playing Thrall.

Unfortunately I have been having some system issues on Wednesday, and then matchmaking problems on Thursday and was only able to record a bot game. Hopefully it's not too bad, but hey, better something than nothing.

Thrall is a really well rounded warrior who is not only able to deal out a great amount of damage, but also snipe and snare - effectively making him a great choice for people who want some variety.

His lightning can eventually start hitting more enemies, doing more damage - while his wolves can travel farther and stun for longer, making it more difficult for an enemy to escape.

His true power though, lies in his ability to increase his attack speed significantly for a short period of time. The burst DPS that is possible, especially in tandem with another high damage output hero, is considerable.

His heroic ability (and I've excluded earthquake because I don't think it's quite as good) is one of the coolest looking ones of all the heroes in my opinion. It also functions to throw heroes off track, stun them, and do quite a bit of damage in the meantime. It can be a great way to finish off a wounded foe, or to use while chasing someone down who is trying to give you the slip.

Overall Thrall was very fun to play, but I feel like his melee damage needs a little tweaking. He feels a little weak, especially in the early game. In the mid to late game however, he feels like a more solid hero who can stand on his own two feet.

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Heroes of the Storm - Delay (Wednesday May 13 2015)

UPDATE: Hi guys, so now Blizzard is having issues with its matchmaking service, which is rendering me unable to play at all. Between my own issues and the problems with the matchmaking system, it is a bad time for both to be happening at once. I am very sorry about the delay and am working hard to get the footage out as soon as possible. It doesn't look like it's going to be available today however. Thanks for your patience!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know there will be a delay in getting the next Heroes video up as there have been some technical problems with my system that were not expected.

I ask for your patience while I work out the issues and thank you for waiting. Sorry about this delay, I will try to get the video up by tomorrow at the latest.

Thanks!

Learn2Magic: Blue

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to another iteration of Learn2Magic. Thanks for joining me this week as I delve into an aggressive blue deck with control elements and a good deal of card draw.

The deck focuses on planting low cost, evasive creatures into play early on. Then, through either playing larger creatures or drawing through various spells, pumping those up and drawing even more cards with Bident of Thassa.

The finisher can vary depending on the length of the game. For shorter games, Chasm Skulker and Talrand, Sky Summoner can make short work of the opponent's life total, while Laboratory Maniac can assist us in winning simply through drawing out our library in those long games or mirror matchups.

We have a small suite of counter magic available to deal with some of our oppenent's threats, and also some creatures that implement control elements by locking down (tapping) our oppenent's creatures, allowing us to attack with less evasive creatures to trigger Bident of Thassa and draw even more.

Blue is one of my favorite colours in Magic, because as it is inertly more difficult to play, winning is so much more rewarding, knowing you have out-witted your opponent (but in most cases, you just drew more cards ;) )

Whichever way you win, playing blue can be a lot of fun for you, and a nightmare for your opponents.

Hope you enjoy the video! If you have any comments or suggestions, please leave them below. Make sure to subscribe and thumbs up if you liked what you saw. Also, please consider making a donation by clicking on the donate button on the upper right corner of the blog.

Friday Night Magic - Spider Swarm!

Welcome to another episode of Friday Night Magic,

Your weekly destination for exciting magic games played online every Friday night in Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers!

This week I'm playing a top tier Green Black (Golgari) recursion deck. It's not in fact the same as "The Returned" deck that I played in an earlier iteration of the series. This one focuses on trying to make many many spiders, and basically annihilate the opponent; either with the spiders themselves, or some of the big fatties in the deck.

The strategy revolves around several creatures that put things into our graveyard, and then several cards that abuse that to the absolute limit. What ensues is nothing short of shenanigans!

It's a slow starting deck that doesn't have a lot of ramp. Thankfully though, a lot of ramp is not needed because we can use creatures to fish out lands early and play larger creatures that are cheaper when we have more creatures in our yard.

This is still a very aggro based deck and should not be taken lightly or underestimated as it only takes a turn or two to turn what looks like a meager looking army of 1/2's into something a whole lot more sinister.

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Uther

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation here by clicking on the link above, and then on the "donate" link to the right. Thank you!

Hey everyone, and welcome to more coverage of Heroes of the Storm. Today I'm playing Uther!

Uther Lightbringer is a holy paladin, a man of conviction, purity and light - and a damn good melee support hero in Heroes!

His abilities focus on keeping his team topped up with excellent healing spells that can also later do damage to his enemies. He is also known for being a sturdy warrior in the field, though not doing as much as his brothers in arms who specialize more in combat and less in supporting the team.

He is able to dish out punishment via his hammer, and often stun enemies to prevent them from running away or casting devastating spells on him or his team.

Uther's heroic ability can either shield a comrade and give them a speed boost, or do damage in the immediate area around him and also stun enemies for a short period of time.

Uther is a flexible hero who is invaluable to his team, and as you can see the team fights in this video are very well coordinated; and, Uther is able to support his team while they do what they do best, melt faces.

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below!

Thank you for watching :)

Learn2Magic: White (Tokens)

(Update - Video has been slow in processing, and may not be available until later tonight. Thanks for your understanding!)

Hey everyone,

Welcome to another rendition of Learn2Magic; an episodic tutorial series aimed at new Magic players in the effort of helping them master the basics and get familiar with all of Magic's colours, as well as deck building and game play fundamentals.

Today I am looking at a token themed mono white deck. White is a very strong colour when it comes to "safety in numbers" as it does tokens very well. Also, white has some of the best token anthems that help to pump up your army from a bunch of measly 1/1's to a formidable march of impending death.

In this deck we focus on things that generate tokens as they come in to the battlefield or attack, as well as spells that generate tokens, and the anthems that pump them up. The idea is to overwhelm the opponent very early on, and give them very little importance of choice when it comes to targeted removal spells, as getting rid of one token still doesn't get rid of the army it was once a part of.

By doing so, we are not only just aggressive, but we are putting our opponent on the back foot - intimidating them by giving them little time or hope to make important decisions, and making them panic before eventually running them over with a horde of tokens.

Hope you enjoy :)

Friday Night Magic - Izzet OP?

If you'd like to help support this channel, please consider making a donation here. Thank you!

Welcome to another episode of Friday Night Magic,

Your weekly destination for exciting magic games played online every Friday night in Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers!

This week I'm playing a very overpowered blue and red deck - or izzet? You be the judge as the focus of this deck is to play low casting cost creatures like Young Pyromancer, Chasm Skulker and Guttersnipe and then punish our enemy while we draw tons and tons of cards.

This is somewhat of a combo deck that has the possibility of going infinite.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below and make sure to thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already!

Enjoy the video :)

FNM Delay

Hey everyone,

Scary here- just want to apologize for FNM being late tonight. It should be up in about 4-6 hours. I know that's a bit of a stretch, however I had some serious work to do for....well, work :P And it involved a lot of study time. And my day job currently pays more so it's a little higher on the list of priorities ;)

Nevertheless, the video is definitely going to be live, most likely sometime overnight (I am not accounting for YouTube processing times which can be terrible).

Thanks very much for your patience!

Best,

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay - Stiches

Hey everyone, and welcome to more coverage of Heroes of the Storm. Today I'm playing Stiches!

Stiches is an awesome hero - his abilities are very unique and his playstyle can vary significantly depending on how you use said abilities.

Because this is a low level build of Stiches, I will be choosing only from the first two of each set of talents. I will be focusing on building him around his Slam ability, opting for more AoE damage and lane presence than anything else.

He's a lot of fun to play, so join me today as we melt some faces and hook us some baddies with Stiches.

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them in the comments section below! Also please make sure to subscribe for all the latest on recent uploads and to catch all the action on the channel. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I've been working hard to get as much content out for you as possible. I want to continue making this as great of an experience for you as I possibly can.

However, a great deal of time investment is required to keep things running smoothly, and to always have something new and fresh on the channel and the blog.

As I start to focus more heavily on this project, I want to ask for your help in keeping it growing and moving in the right direction. Your subscriptions on the channel and all the positive comments have been invaluable in keeping me motivated. But, as I get more serious and invest more and more time, it's becoming more difficult for me to keep up on the financial end.

If you enjoy the content here at SPP Gaming, please consider making a small monetary contribution to the project. So far I am the only one working on it - and I have plans of expanding in new directions by bringing more people on board, and making sure that everyone who visits SSP Gaming will have something there for them to enjoy. Whether to upgrade software and hardware used in production, help to pay for additional hands in the production of said content, or just to buy me a beer for a job well done, any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Killing Floor 2 - First Impressions

Hey everyone,

I picked up Killing Floor 2 not long ago (April 21) as it was released on Early Access on Steam. Usually I hate early access games and refuse to pay money for incomplete work. But this is a rare exception as I am a big fan of the studio, who proved themselves by developing a title still played today which is around 10 years old.

Here are my first impressions of Killing Floor 2, and my humble opinions on what the game is now, and where it is going. Enjoy!

FNM - Azorious Beats!

Hey everyone!

It's Friday night again, and time for some more Friday Night Magic :D

This week I am playing an Azorious (blue and white) beats deck! We're bringing the heat with tokens using cards like Raise the Alarm while keeping up counter magic to deal with our enemies' early to mid game threats. Later, we crush in with an army of tokens, or sacrifice them to Jalira's activated ability, which allows us to dig up a fatty and slam him down into play.

Either way, it's a sure way to run away with the game. And with blue spells giving us some control, it's easier to fend off attempts to shut down our plans early.

Please make sure to subscribe if you enjoy the content and make sure to stay tuned for more awesome gaming coverage on SSP Gaming :)

Heroes Gameplay - Valla

Hey everyone, and welcome to more coverage of Heroes of the Storm. Today I'll be playing Valla, a sexy but dangerous hero from the Diablo universe.

She can be built in many ways, but today she is going balls to the wall with a big AoE build surrounding her second ability, Multishot.

We are going to focus on talents that make it better, as well as other talents that augment what the ability does and give us more damage as a result (such as Frost Shot + Executioner).

Hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any builds of your own please leave them below!

Duplicate Video

Hey everyone,

My apologies. I somehow uploaded a duplicate as the new video, and that's why nothing was working today.

I have started uploading the correct video and it should be available within the hour for you.

Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this caused, but I am going to go ahead and blame it on the terrible jet lag I am still feeling.

Cheers :)

Rift Gameplay - Oracle!

Do you get the reference in the "Oracle" text? ;) There are two :) Check out the next video to find out!

This time in my coverage of Rift, I check out the Oracle as I play the prognosticator cleric. The Oracle is a support oriented soul available in the Dream Souls pack which are the premium souls for the Nightmare Tide expansion. It revolves around situational and static raid buffs; some of which are activated by some of your bread and butter abilities.

This allows for a more flexible approach to buffing and aiding your allies, as you actually have to press buttons to deal damage or heal, and activate your buffs on your allies at the same time. It makes it a lot more fun to play a support role and I believe was done intentionally to help promote playing a different kind of role, one that doesn't quite fit into the usual trifecta of RPG hierarchies.

Check out the guide here

Enjoy!

Im Back!

Hey everyone,

It was a crazy trip but finally I am back from China. I had a great time and experienced a lot of new things. It was definitely a culture shock, but nevertheless it was a great experience.

With that said, keep your eyes peeled for Rift coverage coming Monday, as well as the regular schedule of Storm on Wednesdays and Magic on Fridays.

Thanks for your patience as I get back into the flow of things and back into the regular schedule. See you soon!

Urgent Update - Cancellations

Hey everyone,

This is an urgent update to let you guys know that the Heroes of the Storm and Friday Night Magic videos are cancelled for this week.

I leave for China in 2 days and the stress and amount of work is mounting. Today I just discovered I have a serious emergency situation to deal with, that needs to be dealt with before I leave.

I am very sorry that I won't be able to put out content for the rest of this week, and essentially until I return, but there are some serious issues that I need to address and unfortunately they have priority at this time.

Thanks so much for your understanding, and see you back here in April :)

Rift Gameplay - Liberator

Hey everyone,

Thanks for joining me today as it's once again time for some more Rift gameplay!

In this week's iteration, we are taking a look at the Liberator - one of the new souls in the Dream Souls pack available on the Rift store and alternatively, also available on Steam. Make sure to have patron status to get a discount on your soul pack, as well as a handful of other benefits!

He's a hearty warrior who buffs and heals his allies over time, preferring HoT (heal over time) effects that hit the entire group as well as some damage mitigation spells.

The Liberator is very similar to the soul in last week's video in that typically, this kind of "class" is designed for damage dealing, and has been re-purposed to be of better use to his allies through a variety of unique skills and abilities.

He can be a very capable healer and once his abilities are mastered, it's hard to believe that a warrior is healing the group.

Once the video is available, it will be posted here and you'll get a notice if you're a subscriber. If you're not a subscriber, make sure to click here and subscribe for all the latest videos on the channel.

Also, feel free to join me in Rift!
