The Hunt Evolved - Part III
There are four game modes in Evolve offering quick play and evacuation sub-modes. Quick play allows single match play while evacuation is a longer game with a series of matches in which the winning team of the previous round gets a slight advantage in the next round.
Hunt: The hunters must track and hunt down the monster before it can destroy the power relay. The monster must reach its final evolution in order to be able to accomplish this feat; however, the monster can choose to instead eat all the humans instead.
Next mode pits the hunters and monster against each other as above with the exception that there are now six randomly spawned monster eggs on the map. It's the monster's duty to protect them and the hunters must destroy all eggs before the time is up. The monster has the liberty of being able to destroy one of the eggs to spawn a minion to help it.
Defend pits a fully evolved monster and several minions against the hunters who are in a desperate struggle to protect the generators powering a refueling station that will allow them to escape on their ship. The monster must in turn sabotage these generators to prevent that from happening.
Although multiplayer is a mainstay in Evolve's strategy as a teamwork oriented game, players are able to play any of these game modes against AI bots to hone their skills and become better hunters, or monsters.
